One of the foundation’s core tasks is to support participatory action research, with the aim of enhancing the quality of development cooperation and promoting sustainable and social entrepreneurship worldwide. It supports projects based on Participatory Action Research (PAR), leading to community and personal learning and development.

The foundation achieves this by providing financial or general support to initiatives that help attain the goal needed, as well as by deploying other lawful means that may further the purpose. Funding acquired by the foundation is spent on participatory action research projects (also known as SevenSenses Challenges) and follow-up projects of the action research.
